The Children's Village of Arizona, Inc. was incorporated in Arizona in 1998 and is modeled after SOS Children's Villages International. Two similar organizations are operating in Coconut Grove, Florida and Lockport, Illinois. A third Village is in the planning stages in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Children's Village of Arizona is governed by a local Board of Directors, has many volunteer friends and has obtained a tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service under 501 (c) 3 as a not-for-profit organization.
